- The history of the motor ship Oranje of the Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland (Nederland Line) with the emphasis on her special function as hospital ship in the service of the allied in WW-II. Thousands of injured Australian, English and New Zealand military from the fronts of Africa were transported safely to ports in Australia. The end of her career as the Angelina Lauro is also mentioned.

- The restoration of a model of an 'Arnemuiden hoogaars' is the reason/occasion for a description of this type of fishing boat and the prawn- and mussel fishing in Zeeland.

- The Experiment is general considered to be the forerunner of the famous topsail schooners of which some are still sailing. Built in Chesapeake Bay, USA, she was purchased in 1813 by the Swedish Royal Navy and served as example for the building of a number of equivalent schooners for the battle against pirates and smugglers in the Baltic.

- The Jacob's staff is an old navigational instrument which together with the Davis' quadrant belonged to the standard equipment of the mediaeval navigator. Cor Emke built a replica of the Jacob's staff and restored a Davis' quadrant.

- 'Uytlegger' or a 'Watte Convoyer', two works of art; an early work of Van de Velde and an engraving by Reinier Nooms. Both depict a hitherto little known ship's type of the 17th century.

- The 'timber ship', a model from the navy models room, was a fitting and partially successful solution to literally getting round the 1778 boycott imposed by the English on the Dutch trade in building timber to France.
